The CimMed process: scanning for compression masks

Scan the patient

Phase 1

Patient is scanned using a non contact hand-held laser. System records "points" in 3D space.

Processed CAD Data

Phase 2

3D data collected is brought into software for further processing and editing.

CNC machined 3D Model

Phase 3

3D Model is machined on a CNC Mill using a dense tooling board material. This will be the tool for the next phase.

Vacuum Forming of 3D Model

Phase 4

Tool is placed into a vacuum forming unit. Special plastic is used to make the burn mask. 

Molded Mask before trim

Phase 5

Molded mask will be trimmed out to fit patient.
